Centre Georges Pompidou is situated in the Beaubourg district of Paris. This centre is home to the largest museum of modern art in Europe, an extensive public library and the IRCAM, which is a centre for music and acoustic research. The creation of the centre was decided by the former president of France (1969 - 1974), Georges Pompidou.
