The Stade de France is the famous national stadium in French sports. Just north of Paris in the district of Saint Denis, the colossal stadium has witness some huge events and some of the greatest moments in French sporting history. With its eighty thousand seating capacity, it makes it one of the largest stadiums in Europe and generates a sound like no other when patriotic French fans roar on their team to victory. It serves as a home for the French national football team and rugby team and so the Stade de France, which is also the name of the top 14 french rugby team.
Some of the major events hosted here include the 2003 World athletics Championship, the 2000 and 2006 Champions League Football Finals, the 1999 and 2007 Rugby World Cup and of course the 1998 FIFA World Cup of football where France won the famous trophy for the first time in their history.
