While checking out the
Latin Quarter in the heart of the city of Paris, pay a visit to the Sorbonne, the historical house of the University of Paris. Once the main institution in third level education in Paris the famous old edifice now contains more than 13 autonomous universities after the reorganisation of the University of Paris following the student protests of 1968. Founded in 1253 by Robert Sorbon, a confessor to King Louis IX, it was used as a college for a little number of theology students. AS one of the oldest institutions in Paris, it grew to be the esteemed landmark in the city and a point of interest for any visitor.
